KSWE

I've been going to school at Kanti Wettingen for about four years now, with one gap-year in England, and now the time has come to say goodbye to this beautiful school and all the lovely people there because in a few days I will have finished all my exams and I'll probably only go there again to jam at some workshops.
I will miss this gorgeous monastery, with the beautiful walls and all the pretty furniture, but I am also fairly happy to start something new and continue on with the stuff that I actually like doing (sorry maths, you were fun and all but.. farewell).

Here are some photos I took last week, just to remember :)

So one might ask, what's gonna come up next for me? Next year I will be doing civil-service at a local school, helping some students and teachers with their tasks, and after that, who knows, maybe something with music, or art, or both! Music production? We'll see ;)

Autumn comes to our school!

Last week I helped my school to get some cool drone recordings for their KSWE-News. They turned out really nice! You can watch the video here (It's in Swiss German, but you can watch some of my footage ;)

I also took some images of the yellow and orange trees. It just looked lovely!

Kurze Stille in der Halle

"Short Silence in the Hall" was the name of the piece which our school theatre performed last week. I even went twice to watch it because it was that good! The second time I also took lots of pictures ;)

The whole piece was about rituals all around the world. The ones of our everyday lives compared to those in other cultures, countries and religions. We've learned a lot of facts that evening from marriages until deaths, but they also told and played many real short stories about everyday situations. Sometimes funny and sometimes really tragic!
But altogether it was an awesome performance with a lot of laughter and brilliant acting!

After the event, there was a party all night, because it was the last performance. And it was so much fun!

Preparing a cool concert - Summerparty - Recording

Exams are over, but there's still a lot of things on my to-do list! One of them is a concert which will be next week on Wednesday at 7 PM at our school. It's the concert of the music-focus subject, which means there will for sure be a lot of great performances!
At the moment I am practising like wild for this event and in the meantime, I also had to record some jazz standards for my teacher so he could mark them.

Last weekend a good friend of mine had a birthday party which was really cool! We've played a lot of Viking Chess, an awesome game, had a barbeque and a great time enjoying our exam-freedom :D

Night Flight

Every two years there's this huge late night event at our school called musicnight. In many different spots outdoors on the school grounds are performances of all kinds.

Yesterday, for example, the school orchestra was playing film music, I had two performances with the BigBand which were awesome, but there were also dance performances, singing and other musical acts.

The theme of yesterday's event was "Night Flight". It was all about flying and everyone was dressed up either as a captain or some other board crew. We also played a song called Night Flight. The food was lovely too, and there was even a bar inside a real old aeroplane part!

I was also flying with my drone at night because that just fit the topic perfectly. My friends Simon and David gave some RC-helicopter flying lessons next to me while I was live streaming to a huge tv screen with my drone.

Whilst flying around I took some more pictures of our school at day and night and I photographed the highway next to the school with long-time exposure so the cars would draw lines behind them.

More video footage of our school for the school-news!

Here I have another video with some drone footage of our school garden. Last week the news guys from our school asked me if I could take some shots for them:

Other than that there was not so much going on this week. I had some presentations in school and quite a busy week learning for exams. But soon we'll have summer holidays and I will have a lot of free time again :D

Dronin' around school!

I was asked by the school if I could take some more drone pictures. Of course I'd do that :)
So this wednesday on my free afternoon I took some pictures after I visited my friends from my internship at the university in Zürich which was really nice too!

I also took some cool pictures of the cool clouds today, it looked so cool! The immense contrast between those clouds and the bright, enlighted landscape was so lovely!

We also had a lovely barbecue with some friends one evening where we talked a lot, ate grilled marshmellows and had a really good time :D

Monteverdi Concerts

The last week was so strenuous! Nearly every day we had many rehearsals, even until late at night. But it was totally worth the effort, because the concerts we had yesterday and the day before yesterday were amazing!
It was such a pleasure to finally perform the whole piece and to see the reactions of the listeners. One of my favourite moments was when one soloist went to the back of the hall and began singing there, every single head in the audience turned around trying to figure out where the sound was coming from.

It was a pleasure to sing Monteverdi, but now, after the many times we sung it, I am glad that we can move on to something else :)

Through the lens of an immigrant, Concert recording

This week was great!
On Wednesday I prepared a photography exhibition with Farhad. He's a Syrian photographer who now lives here in Switzerland for about one and a half years as an immigrant. We did a project a couple months back where we went onto the street with him, and he had to take some pictures. Later we analysed them together, and now I offered him the chance to present them at our school.
It was quite some work until we prepared it all! First, we had to get some more presenter-boards form another building, put the pictures on them nicely and help Ali make tea for the exhibition. Just on time everything was ready :D
There were a lot of people, more than I expected. At one time nearly the whole room was full!

My friends had a concert in a small cinema on Thursday, where they performed live music to a muted black & white film. It was really well done, they did a great job!
I was asked to record the whole thing, audio and video. And of course, I did! It took quite some time to set it up, with all the cameras and stuff. Now I still have to edit everything..!

In the early winter morning

Sometimes you need to wake up early, even on your holidays, to get some nice pictures! This is what me and four friends did on Tuesday. We started our little hike up our home mountain, the Lägern, at 6:30 AM to arrive at the top before sunrise. And it was gorgeous!! Totally worth it :)

I got myself a camera drone last week (I took the picture above with it). I went flying a lot! I also took some pictures of my school covered in snow :)

On Monday I went lightpainting again at our school. The pictures turned out very cool again :D
